Domaine Raymond Usseglio & fils - Châteauneuf du Pape

The Domain of Usseglio - Châteauneuf du Pape, an exceptional appellation.

Presentation of the domain

Châteauneuf du Pape, is an exceptional appellation. The appellation of Châteauneuf du Pape, the first AOC in France, which was defined in 1933, is located on the left bank of the Rhone river between the cities of Orange and Avignon.
The look of the Châteauneuf du Pape vineyard cannot be confused with other vineyards, because none of its vines is domesticated with trellis, that is to say that the shoots grow without any help.

Its terroir benefits from the great diversity of its soils, especially from the large and smooth cobblestones (diluvium alpin) which were left behind by glaciers several thousands years ago and which now rest on red clays. These allow the grapes to reach a very high level of maturity.
